Staunton River had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. They blew past the Brookville Bees 13-3 on Wednesday.

Payton Evans was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she pitched five innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off three hits. Evans was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances.
