Soccer Recap: Moffat County Comes Up Short

Moffat County was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their tenth straight loss. They lost 5-0 to the Basalt Longhorns. The result was an unpleasant reminder to Moffat County of the 4-0 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2025.

Moffat County's loss dropped their record down to 1-10. As for Basalt, their win was their first in the league, bumping their league record up to 1-3-1 and their overall record up to 4-6-1.

Moffat County wasted no time getting back out on the pitch and has already played their next contest, a 9-2 defeat against Colorado Rocky Mountain on the 21st. As for Basalt, they will challenge Rifle at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Basalt will be up against Rifle's rather soft defense (which has allowed 2.9 goals per match), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
