Baseball Recap: Independence Extends Road Winning Streak to Four

Independence won against Franklin last Tuesday with eight runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Wednesday. The Eagles never let the Admirals get on the board and left with an 8-0 win. The Eagles haven't had any issues with the Admirals recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive victory against them.

Independence's win was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 15-7. The road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.3 runs on average over those games. As for Franklin, they have been struggling recently as they've lost nine of their last ten games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-16 record this season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Independence will host Beech at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The Eagles' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Buccaneers have averaged an impressive 6.5 runs per game this season. As for Franklin, they will welcome Hillsboro at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.
