Baseball Game Preview: McClain Tigers vs. Hillsboro Indians

For the second straight game, McClain will face off against Hillsboro. The Tigers will face off against the Indians at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.

McClain will bounce into Tuesday's match after beating Hillsboro, who they had gone 2-7 against in their nine prior meetings. The Tigers skirted past the Indians 2-1. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Tigers have posted since April 18, 2024.

Cohen Six spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered a run (which was unearned) on four hits and racked up nine Ks. He has been consistent: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in six consecutive appearances.

At the plate, McClain's victory was truly a team effort as six different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Conner Chandler, who went 2-for-3 with one run. Matthew Cummins also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.

The win made it two in a row for McClain and bumps their season record up to 4-8. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 6.5 runs over those games. As for Hillsboro, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-10.
