The Dundee-Crown Chargers will square off against the Jacobs Eagles at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.
Dundee-Crown lost a heartbreaker the last time they played Harvard, but it's fair to say they got their revenge given the result of Saturday's matchup. The Chargers never let the Hornets get on the board and left with a 10-0 victory on Saturday. The Chargers not only won on Saturday, but they posted their biggest win since April 18th (when they won 11-1).
Jordyn Jeffs was a standout: she went a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. That's the most RBI she has posted over her last 11 games. Another player making a difference was Emily Einhorn, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.
Dundee-Crown always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .533. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Meanwhile, Jacobs came into Thursday's contest having lost three straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They blew past Crystal Lake Central 19-11 on Thursday. The game was the first time the Eagles have beaten the Tigers on their field since April 26, 2023.
Jacobs got a massive performance out of Olivia Fillipp, who went 3-for-6 with three RBI, two runs, and one double. Talia Disilvio was another key player, going 4-for-5 with two runs and two RBI.
Jacobs' win bumped their record up to 13-16. As for Dundee-Crown, their victory bumped their record up to 9-17.
