Softball Recap: Affton Takes a Loss

Affton managed to slip by Pattonville the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. The Cougars lost 23-7 to the Pirates on Monday. The Cougars just can't catch a break and have now endured seven losses in a row.

Affton saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Aleigha Meyers, who got on base in all three of her plate appearances with four stolen bases and two runs. Another was Hailey Cunningham, who got on base in all three of her plate appearances with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

Affton's defeat dropped their record down to 2-8-1. As for Pattonville, their win (their first of the season) made their record 1-7-1.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming contests. Affton will challenge Kirkwood at 4:15 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Pattonville, they will square off against Parkway West at 4:15 p.m. on Tuesday. The Longhorns' pitching crew has only allowed four runs per game this season, so the Pirates' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
