Volleyball Recap: Zion-Benton Comes Up Short

Zion-Benton was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss dating back to last season. They fell 2-0 to the Mundelein Mustangs. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Mustangs this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 2-0 last Saturday.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-16, 25-12.

Jaeden Colbert-Miller paced Zion-Benton's offense, picking up three kills. Colbert-Miller were helped by Brayden Young and Cason Rausch, who contributed four assists each.

Mundelein can attribute much of their success to Rance Cruz, who had nine digs and three assists.

Zion-Benton's defeat dropped their record down to 0-3. As for Mundelein, the win keeps they at an undefeated 5-0.

Looking ahead, Zion-Benton will face off against Niles North at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Mundelein, they will challenge Stevenson at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
