There's no place like home for Atlantic Shores Christian, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Saturday. They put the hurt on the Portsmouth Christian Patriots with a sharp 3-0 win on Tuesday. The victory continues a trend for the Seahawks in their matchups with the Patriots: they've now won nine in a row.

One reason for the win was Atlantic Shores Christian's just kept getting better, winning each set by more points than the last. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-17, 25-15, 25-10.

Their offense was headlined by Jasmine Gebara and Sarah Moyer, who picked up seven kills apiece. They got some help from Bethany Ligon and her 18 assists. Gebara was also solid from the service line: she led the team with eight aces.

Atlantic Shores Christian's win was their first in the region, bumping their region record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 3-5. As for Portsmouth Christian, their loss was their tenth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 0-5.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. After both having extra time off, Atlantic Shores Christian and Gateway Christian will shake off the cobwebs and hit the court against one another at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Portsmouth Christian, they will square off against Suffolk Christian Academy at 5:15 p.m. on Thursday.
