Volleyball Recap: Dearra Aikens Key Part of Team Effort in Warriors Win

McClymonds won the last time they faced Life Academy and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Warriors were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over the Biohazards. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Warriors.

Not only was the match a shutout, it was a big one: McClymonds took every set by at least 15 points. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-8, 25-10, 25-6.

McClymonds got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was DeArra Aikens out in front who hit 70% for eight kills and 25 aces and three digs. Aikens has been hot for a while, having posted five or more kills the last ten times she's played. Zamiah Harvey was another key player, hitting 100% for seven kills and ten aces and three digs.

They weren't the only good servers: McClymonds was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 46 aces. That's the most aces they've posted in their last five matches.

McClymonds' victory bumped their record up to 6-2. As for Life Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 0-3.

McClymonds has already played their next matchup, a 3-0 win against Madison Park Academy on the 9th. As for Life Academy, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 3-0 defeat against Fremont on the 9th.
