Volleyball Game Preview: St. Laurence Vikings vs. Loyola Academy Ramblers

St. Laurence is 0-3 against Loyola Academy since May of 2022 but things could change on Tuesday. St. Laurence will be playing in front of their home fans against Loyola Academy at 6:00 p.m. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Last Thursday, St. Laurence didn't have quite enough to beat Oak Lawn and fell 2-1.

St. Laurence started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last two. The match finished with set scores of 26-28, 25-17, 25-17.

Despite the loss, St. Laurence had strong showings from Matthew Suchecki, who had 11 digs and two aces, and Emilio Perez, who had 15 digs and two assists. That's the most aces Suchecki has posted since back in May of 2024.

Meanwhile, Loyola Academy faced Niles Notre Dame in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Monday. Loyola Academy took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of Niles Notre Dame. The Ramblers' defeat continues a trend for the team, making it three in a row.

St. Laurence's loss dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Loyola Academy, they now have a losing record of 3-4.
