Basketball Recap: Jumpertown Comes Up Short

Jumpertown was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They fell to the Falkner Eagles 67-63. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game last Thursday (61), the Cardinals still had to take the loss.

Falkner had a senior duo take command as Elijah Mauney almost dropped a double-double on 28 points and nine boards and Chris Nunley went 8 of 10from beyond the arc on his way to 32 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Mauney has scored all season.

Jumpertown now has a losing record at 5-6. As for Falkner, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games, which provided a nice bump to their 4-2 record this season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Jumpertown will host Varsity Opponent at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Falkner, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against Ashland at 7:31 p.m. Falkner is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 54.5 points per game this season.
