Basketball Recap: Central Takes a Loss

After flying high against Dixon on Wednesday, Central came back down to earth. The Rockets fell 62-56 to the Sycamore Spartans on Friday. The Rockets were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Spartans apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in November of 2023.

Despite the loss, Central still got an impressive performance from Patrick Magan, who went 10-for-19 to rack up 27 points along with six boards and three steals. Declan Wilson was another key player, putting up eight points and six rebounds.

Central's record now sits at 1-1. As for Sycamore, they have started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it.

Looking ahead, Central and Rochelle will face off at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday without much rest, having both just played. As for Sycamore, they and Yorkville will face off at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday without much rest, having both just played.
