Eastside gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Thursday. They strolled past the Rosamond Roadrunners with points to spare, taking the game 63-44. The Lions have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Roadrunners, too.

Cavanna Whitley was a one-woman wrecking crew as she dropped a double-double with 17 points and 11 boards. Another player making a difference was Camrynn Whitley, who dropped a double-double with 13 points and ten rebounds.

Eastside was working as a unit and finished the game with 14 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Rosamond only posted eight.

Rosamond's loss came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Abigail Cardoza, who posted 16 points and four steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Georgia Lizotte, who scored 11 points and five boards.

Rosamond's defeat dropped their record down to 1-1.

Eastside wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 44-39 loss against King/Drew on the 22nd. As for Rosamond, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 54-48 defeat against Knight on the 22nd.
