Volleyball Recap: Valhalla Starts Season with Victory at Home

Valhalla took care of business in their home opener (and then some) on Tuesday. Everything went their way against the Hoover Cardinals as the Valhalla Norsemen made off with a 3-0 win.

The match was exciting from start to finish, as two sets needed extra rallies to gain a two-point lead. The match finished with set scores of 27-25, 25-22, 29-27.

Eric Dempsey paced Valhalla's offense, picking up 12 kills. Dempsey got some help from Gno Casanova and his 35 assists. Casanova was also solid from the service line: he led the team with two aces.

Valhalla will challenge Santana at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Hoover will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Mount Miguel at 6:30 p.m. on March 11th.
