Basketball Preview: Venture Academy Mustangs vs. Folsom Bulldogs
The Venture Academy Mustangs are on the road again on Saturday and plays the Folsom Bulldogs at 4:00 p.m. on February 3rd. One thing working in Venture Academy's favor is that they have posted big point totals every time they've taken the court this season.
Venture Academy stacked an 18th blowout win onto their ever-increasing hoard on Tuesday. They breezed by Big Valley Christian on the road to the tune of 90-58. Given Venture Academy's advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 222nd, while the Lions are ranked 614th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Venture Academy to victory, but perhaps none more so than Cameron Lowe, who dropped a double-double on 17 points and ten rebounds. Jayden Fakhouri was another key contributor, scoring 16 points.
Meanwhile, Folsom pushed their score all the way to 68 on Friday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They took a 76-68 hit to the loss column at the hands of Rocklin. Folsom has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Venture Academy's win was their 13th straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 22-3. They've been dominating during the contests in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 30.2 points. As for Folsom, their loss dropped their record down to 15-10.
