Jacksonville had already proven themselves in the regular season and they didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They simply couldn't be stopped on Friday as they easily beat the Harnett Central Trojans 52-12. The Cardinals might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six games by 21 points or more this season.
Jacksonville's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Anthony Washington led the charge by rushing for 45 yards and three TDs, while also throwing for 115 yards and one touchdown. Those three rushing touchdowns gave Washington a new career-high. Amari Pearson helped out on the ground, rushing for 151 yards and a rushing touchdown.
They were just one part of a punishing run game: Jacksonville was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 251 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 186 rushing yards every time they've taken the field this season.
Jacksonville didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Avery Apicella and Yondez Baker. Baker got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.
