They took their game on Saturday with ease, bagging a 69-42 win over the University Trojans. The Bears might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won nine contests by 27 points or more this season.

Gary Jefferson Jr. continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, rushing for 381 yards and six scores while picking up 11.2 yards per carry, and also picking up 47 receiving yards and one touchdown. Those 381 rushing yards gave him a new career-high. Weston Nielsen was another key player, throwing for 218 yards and three TDs.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Bastrop was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 456 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've managed all season.

Despite the loss, University had strong showings from Savoy Nichols, who threw for 491 yards and four touchdowns while picking up 12.6 yards per attempt, and London Smith, who picked up 256 receiving yards and three scores. A healthy portion of Nichols' aerial production (107 yards to be exact) also went to Keandre Brooks, who also brought in a receiving touchdown.

Bastrop's victory was their 11th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 11-1. The team dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 37.2 points. As for University, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-5.
