Volleyball Recap: Sierra Academy of Expeditionary Learning Comes Up Short

Sierra Academy of Expeditionary Learning was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They lost 3-0 to the Futures Knights. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Fire Wolves of the 3-0 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in September of 2024.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-16, 25-21, 25-16.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Futures to victory, but perhaps none more so than Nikka Vinokurov, who had 33 digs and three assists. Those 33 digs gave Vinokurov a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Viktoria Esyutin, who had seven aces and three digs.

Sierra Academy of Expeditionary Learning's defeat dropped their record down to 3-8. As for Futures, the victory keeps them at an undefeated 8-0.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Sierra Academy of Expeditionary Learning is set to challenge their familiar foe Victory Christian at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Futures will square off against rival Encina at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
