Volleyball Recap: Diego Allievi Leads a Balanced Effort to Beat Temecula Prep

West Valley extended their home winning streak to three games thanks to a huge performance from Carlvin Valdez. The West Valley Mustangs put the hurt on the Temecula Prep Patriots with a sharp 3-0 win on Wednesday with plenty of help from Valdez, who had nine digs, five kills, and one block. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in assists (18).

West Valley walked away with the victory (and looked especially good in the third set). Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-16, 25-18, 25-13.

West Valley's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Diego Allievi led the charge by getting six aces and one assist. With that strong performance, Allievi is now averaging an impressive 3.5 aces per game. Nile Ledda was another key player, getting 12 digs and three aces.

Allievi wasn't the only good server: West Valley was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 20 aces. That's the most aces they've managed all season.

West Valley's win bumped their record up to 3-5.

West Valley has already played their next contest, a 3-2 defeat against Perris on the 27th. As for Temecula Prep, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 3-0 victory against Saint Jeanne de Lestonnac Catholic School on the 27th.
