Softball Recap: Chaparral Comes Up Short

Chaparral was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their 12th straight defeat dating back to last season. They were two runs away from ending the streak, but they lost a 15-13 heartbreaker at the hands of the San Elizario Eagles. If the Lobos were looking for revenge after losing 5-0 to the Eagles when the teams met back in March of 2023, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Chaparral got a massive performance out of Sarah Rizo, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs, two doubles, and one RBI. Abrianna Moreno was another key player, going 2-for-3 with four RBI and one run.

Chaparral's loss dropped their record down to 0-3. As for San Elizario, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 5-3 record this season.

Chaparral has already played their next matchup, a 22-0 defeat against Horizon on the 20th. As for San Elizario, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next game, a 15-8 loss against Santa Teresa on the 20th.
