Baseball Recap: Carrollwood Day Find Success

While Carrollwood Day put up some runs on Tuesday, the same can't be said for Sickles. The Carrollwood Day Patriots narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past the Sickles Gryphons 2-0.

Not much got past Nick Riedel, who gave up just five hits to keep Sickles off the board. Riedel has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up a single earned run in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Allen Soriano, who went 2-for-3 with one triple and two RBI.

Carrollwood Day has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-5 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.6 runs on average over those games. Sickles moved to 11-4 with that defeat, which also ended their seven-game winning streak.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Carrollwood Day will host Brooks DeBartolo Collegiate at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Sickles, they will look to defend their home field on March 25th against Alonso at 7:00 p.m.
