Baseball Recap: Make It Three in a Row for David Emanuel Academy

With a playoff win on the line, David Emanuel Academy rose to the challenge on Saturday. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past Vidalia Heritage Academy 5-3. The win was nothing new for David Emanuel Academy as they're now sitting on three straight.

Brody Fleming made a splash while hitting and pitching. He struck out 12 batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off six hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't tossed less than seven strikeouts in nine consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with one home run and two RBI.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Tucker Free, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI and one double. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in March.

David Emanuel Academy's victory bumped their record up to 20-11. As for Vidalia Heritage Academy, with the loss, they broke their four-game winning streak and moved their record to 14-11.
