Volleyball Recap: Nine Straight Home Victories for Academy of International Studies + How To Watch

Academy of International Studies's game last Friday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Wednesday. They came out on top against the Hartford Magnet Trinity College Academy Phoenix by a score of 3-1. For the Dragons, this counts as revenge for the 3-1 victory the Phoenix walked away with the last time they faced one another back in October of 2024.

Academy of International Studies had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next three. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 23-25, 25-20, 26-24, 25-15.

Academy of International Studies was led to victory by Angie Zuluaga- Gonzalez and Lisa Weinberg. Zuluaga- Gonzalez had 23 digs, while Weinberg had 21 assists and four aces. Weinberg is crushing it when it comes to aces: she's served at least two every time she's taken the court this season.

They weren't the only good servers: Academy of International Studies was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 19 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least 13 aces every time they've taken the court this season.

Academy of International Studies' win was their ninth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 13-3. As for Hartford Magnet Trinity College Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 2-5.
