Volleyball Recap: Northwestern Snags Sixth Win in Last Seven Games

For whatever reason, it's the away team that's had the advantage when Northwestern and Southeastern Local meet (four straight games heading into this one) and that held true again on Saturday. The Warriors blew past the Trojans 3-0. For the Warriors, this counts as revenge for the 3-2 win the Trojans walked away with the last time they faced one another back in September of 2024.

Maddy Aills was the offensive standout of the game as she had seven digs and two aces. Those seven digs gave her a new career-high.

Aills wasn't the only good server: Northwestern was lethal from the service line and finished the game with ten aces. The Warriors are 7-2 when they serve at least ten aces.

Northwestern has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 8-5 record this season. As for Southeastern Local, they are on a nine-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-10.

Northwestern has already played their next matchup, a 3-2 loss against North Union on the 16th. As for Southeastern Local, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 3-0 defeat against Fairbanks on the 16th.
