Basketball Recap: Croatan Skates Past Cape Hatteras with Ease + How To Watch

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Croatan). They really took it to the Cape Hatteras Hurricanes for the full four quarters, racking up a 73-29 victory. The game was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 39-11.

Croatan's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Kannon McBride led the charge by dropping a double-double with 16 points and 11 boards. McBride has been hot for a while, having posted 16 or more points the last 11 times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Joseph Taylor, who went 6-for-9 en route to 17 points.

The win (which was Croatan's fourth in a row) raised their record to 4-1. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 67.3 points over those games. As for Cape Hatteras, they dropped their record down to 0-5 with the defeat, which was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season.

Looking ahead, Croatan will welcome White Oak at 8:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Cougars will need to watch out since the Vikings have now posted at least 55 points every time they've taken the court this season. As for Cape Hatteras, they will venture away from home to take on Manteo at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
