Football Recap: Trinity Christian Academy Picks Up Eighth Consecutive Victory

It's playoff time, and Trinity Christian Academy had no trouble coming through when it counted. They blew past the Franklin Christian Academy Falcons 55-7 on Friday. The Lions might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won seven contests by 26 points or more this season.

Owen Atwood had another great game (as he tends to do), rushing for 72 yards and three touchdowns, while also throwing for 88 yards and one TD. He also put in work on the defensive side of the ball, making three total tackles (0.5 for loss) and defending one pass. Another player making a difference was Joe Cole, who rushed for 62 yards and one score.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Trinity Christian Academy was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 295 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've posted since back in October of 2024.

Trinity Christian Academy didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off four passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Gabe Lee and Lake Helton. Lee got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.

The victory was the eighth in a row for Trinity Christian Academy, bringing their record up to 9-2. Those wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 44.5 points over those games. As for Franklin Christian Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 6-5.
