Football Recap: Whitman Comes Up Short + How To Watch

Whitman extended their losing streak to three on Friday, dropping them down to 3-5. They were dealt a 39-7 defeat at the hands of the Walter Johnson Wildcats. The Vikings were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 34-7.

Hicham El Ghormli threw for 56 yards and one touchdown. On the ground, Matthew Miller rushed for 35 yards.

As for Walter Johnson, their win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 3-5. The high-flying offensive performance was a huge turnaround for they considering their six-point performance the matchup before.

Jake Forburger had an outrageously good game as he rushed for 128 yards and a pair of scores on only seven carries, and also caught one TD. He is becoming a predictor of Walter Johnson's success: when he posts at least 80 rushing yards the team is 2-1 (and 1-4 when he doesn't).

Coming up, Whitman will challenge Bethesda-Chevy Chase at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Walter Johnson, they will square off against Blake at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Bengals' defense has only allowed 12.5 points per game this season, so the Wildcats' offense will have their work cut out for them.
