Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask First Christian). They were the clear victors by a 27-6 margin over the Open Bible Christian Warriors on Monday. The result was nothing new for the Lions, who have now won six contests by six runs or more so far this season.

Victoria Loehr made a splash no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out seven batters over three innings while giving up just two earned runs off two hits (and only one walk). Loehr was also stellar in the batter's box, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with two stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI.

In other batting news, Arabella Blake was a standout: she got on base in all four of her plate appearances with three stolen bases, four runs, and three RBI. Corie Wheeler was another key player, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with four runs, two stolen bases, and four RBI.

First Christian always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .909. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

First Christian is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a nice bump to their 7-4 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.5 runs over those games. As for Open Bible Christian, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-6.

Coincidentally, First Christian and Open Bible Christian will both be playing Northside Christian Academy the next time they take the field. The Lions will head out to face Northside Christian Academy at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday, while the Warriors will host them at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.
