Volleyball Recap: Lawrence-Nelson Takes a Loss

Lawrence-Nelson suffered their biggest defeat since October 9th on Monday. They came up short against the Red Cloud Warriors, falling 3-0. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Warriors this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-0 on October 9th.

While Lawrence-Nelson was kept off the board, it wasn't for a lack of trying: they cut into Red Cloud's winning margin in every set. The final score came out to 25-10, 25-17, 25-23.

Despite the loss, Lawrence-Nelson saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Victoria Koehler had 11 digs and one assist.

Lawrence-Nelson's defeat was their tenth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 7-23. As for Red Cloud, they are on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last 11 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 20-9 record this season.

Lawrence-Nelson does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Red Cloud, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 3-0 win against Silver Lake on the 28th.
