Basketball Recap: Ten Straight Home Wins for West Jefferson

There's no place like home for West Jefferson, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Saturday. They took down the Dublin Scioto Irish 46-29 on Tuesday.

Lyla Magnussen and Alayna McMillen certainly did their best on Tuesday to avoid the loss. Magnussen posted 16 points in addition to seven boards and five steals, while McMillen put up nine points and four steals. Magnussen is crushing it when it comes to steals: she's grabbed at least three every time she's taken the court this season.

West Jefferson pushed their record up to 1-1 with the victory, which was their tenth straight at home dating back to last season. Those home wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 53.4 points over those games. As for Dublin Scioto, they are on a five-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-3.

West Jefferson and Dublin Scioto will both get their first taste of in-conference action in their upcoming games. The Roughriders are set to face off against their familiar foe West Liberty-Salem at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Dublin Scioto will take on rival Westerville North at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
