Baseball Recap: Arleta Takes a Loss

Arleta extended their losing streak to eight on Wednesday, dropping them down to 3-10. They came up short against the Vaughn White Tigers, falling 11-0. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the White Tigers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 11-1 last Friday.

Arleta saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Abel Catalan, who went 1-for-3 with one triple. Cesar Marquez also deserves some recognition as he got his first hit of the season.

As for Vaughn, the win got them back to even at 5-5. 11 seems to be a good number for them as the squad scooped up a victory with the same number of runs in their previous game.

On Vaughn's side, they gave Juan Navarro the start and clearly made the right call: he pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. Emilio Medina relieved him and did a solid job, pitching two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit.

Looking ahead, Arleta will be playing at home against Monroe at 3:00 p.m. on Friday. The Vikings' pitching crew has only allowed 1.6 runs per game this season, so the Mustangs' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Vaughn, they are taking a road trip to square off against Valley Academy of Arts & Sciences at 2:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
