Belleview Christian extends home winning streak to 17

Recap: Belleview Christian Bruins vs. Front Range Baptist Falcons

The Belleview Christian Bruins waltzed into their matchup on Tuesday with four straight wins but they left with five. They came out on top against Front Range Baptist by a score of 67-55. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Belleview Christian to victory, but perhaps none more so than Garrett Owen, who scored 18 points along with four steals and two blocks. Owen hasn't dropped below two steals for 11 straight games. Another player making a difference was Joshua Norman, who scored 17 points along with seven rebounds and two steals.

Defeat or not, Front Range Baptist got some senior leadership from Stephen Manthei and Alex Prelog. Manthei scored 16 points, while Prelog. scored 12 points along with eight rebounds and two steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Manthei has scored all season. Mark Sutton was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with six rebounds.

Even though they lost, Front Range Baptist smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 13 offensive rebounds. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Belleview Christian only pulled down six offensive rebounds.

Belleview Christian pushed their record up to 11-1 with that victory, which was their 17th straight at home dating back to last season. They've been dominating during the matches in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 36.41 points. As for Front Range Baptist, their loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 5-3.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Belleview Christian will face off against Dawson School at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Dawson School will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Colorado Rankings (they are ranked 216th, while Belleview Christian is ranked 58th). As for Front Range Baptist, they will head out on the road to face off against Lone Star at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday.
