Recap: Platte Canyon Huskies vs. Jefferson Saints
After a string of three wins, the Platte Canyon Huskies's good fortune finally ran out on Tuesday. They took a hard 38-24 fall against Jefferson. Platte Canyon has not had much luck with Jefferson recently, as the team's come up short the last two times they've met.
Platte Canyon's loss came despite strong showings from Sydney Curtis and Caley Erickson. Curtis scored six points along with five steals, while Erickson scored six points along with five rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Liza Lineberry, who scored four points.
Platte Canyon's loss ended an eight-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 10-4. As for Jefferson, the win was the 11th in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 12-3.
Platte Canyon will head out on the road to square off against Englewood at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Platte Canyon's defense has only allowed 26.2 points per game this season, so Englewood's offense will have their work cut out for them. As for Jefferson, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Middle Park at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Jefferson is on a five-game streak of home wins, Middle Park a three-game streak of away wins -- so someone will have to leave a streak behind on the court.
