Softball Recap: Lincoln High's Win Ends Five-Game Losing Streak on the Road

Lincoln High lost a heartbreaker the last time they played Benson, but it's fair to say they got their revenge given the result of Monday's game. The Links put the hurt on the Bunnies with a sharp 13-2 win on Monday.

Lincoln High let Lea Brock and Evie Becher run wild. Brock went a perfect 3-for-3 with three doubles, three RBI, and two runs, while Becher went 2-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and one triple. That's the most RBI Brock has posted since back in October of 2024. Annie Semrad was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two runs, two doubles, and two RBI.

Lincoln High was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .375. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Benson only posted a batting average of .133.

Lincoln High's victory ended a five-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 6-12. As for Benson, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 7-17.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming contests. Lincoln High will square off against Grand Island at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Islanders have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 8.52 runs per game on average), something the Links will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Benson, they will face off against Burke at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
