Palisade proved they can win big on Saturday (they won by ten) and on Tuesday they proved they can win the close ones too. They had just enough and edged out the Montrose Red Hawks 3-2. The Bulldogs haven't had any issues with the Red Hawks recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive win against them.

Chloe Cummings spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned runs on four hits and racked up six Ks.

At the plate, Palisade saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Lexi Trottier, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base and one run. Trottier has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times she's played.

Palisade's victory bumped their record up to 8-5. As for Montrose, the defeat snapped their winning streak at four games and leaves them with a 10-4 record.

Looking ahead, Palisade will be playing at home against Rampart at 2:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Montrose, they will head out on the road to take on Grand Junction at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Red Hawks' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Tigers have averaged an impressive 8.3 runs per game this season.
