Cinco Ranch had already won four in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 7.8 points) and they went ahead and made it five on Thursday. They came out on top against the Mayde Creek Rams by a score of 23-16. That's more bragging rights for the Cougars, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Brayden Gonzalez went supernova, rushing for 162 yards and a pair of TDs. What's more, he posted two rushing touchdowns, the most he's had since back in October of 2024.

When it comes to explaining why Mayde Creek lost, don't look at Chad Nelson. Despite the final result, he picked up 61 receiving yards and one score, and also punched in one touchdown on the ground.
