The Davis Darts will face off against the Layton Lancers at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Davis will be strutting in after a win while Layton will be coming in after a loss.
On Tuesday, Davis got the win against Fremont by a conclusive 3-0. The Darts haven't had any issues with the Silverwolves recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive victory against them.
Davis never let Fremont on the board, but things got pretty close in the third set. The final score came out to 25-19, 25-15, 29-27.

Davis' win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Brandon Sims, who had 14 digs and one assist. That's the most digs Sims has posted over his last eight games.
Meanwhile, Layton was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of Syracuse.
While Layton ultimately came up short, they didn't go down without a fight: they scored at least 18 points in every set they played. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-18, 24-26, 25-19, 25-20.
Davis will have to keep a close watch on Andy Page and Ben Peterson, a pair of players who had a big impact on Layton's prior game. Page had eight digs and one assist, while Peterson had 14 assists and eight digs. Peterson has been hot recently, having posted 14 or more assists the last three times he's played.
Layton's loss dropped their record down to 6-16. As for Davis, their victory bumped their record up to 16-7.
Here's a few offensive stats to keep an eye on ahead of Thursday's matchup: Davis has really dialed in their serving this season, having averaged 4.5 aces per game. However, it's not like Layton struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 5.7 aces. Given these competing strengths, it'll be interesting to see how their clash plays out.
Davis took their win against Layton when the teams last played back in April by a conclusive 3-0 score. Will the Darts repeat their success, or do the Lancers have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
