Basketball Recap: Sanford Comes Up Short

On Saturday, the Sanford Spartans opened the new year with a less-than-successful 56-43 defeat to the Greely Rangers.

Sanford now has a losing record at 4-5. As for Greely, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 5-3.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Sanford will take on Deering at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Greely, they will head out on the road to take on Messalonskee at 7:00 p.m. on January 11th.
