Grafton took a nine-run loss the last time they faced off against Lincoln, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. Grafton came out on top in a nail-biter against Lincoln on Monday, sneaking past 6-5. For the Bearcats, this counts as revenge for the 12-3 victory the Cougars walked away with the last time they faced one another back in April of 2024.

Lillie Crimm spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and three unearned) runs on eight hits and racked up 13 Ks. Those hits were her first of the season.

On the hitting side, Grafton saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Lydia Wildroudt, who scored a run while going 2-for-3. Wildroudt also brought in an RBI, marking her first of the season.

The win got Grafton back to even at 2-2. As for Lincoln, their record is now 1-1.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Grafton will welcome North Marion at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Grafton will need to watch out since North Marion has now posted at least ten runs every time they've taken the field this season. As for Lincoln, a feisty cat fight will be fought as Lincoln Cougars take on Elkins Tigers at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
