Volleyball Recap: Olathe West's Win on Friday Extends Winning Streak to Six

With a playoff win on the line, Olathe West rose to the challenge on Friday. They came out on top against the Washburn Rural Blues by a score of 2-0. The win was familiar territory for the Owls, who have now won six matchups in a row.

Olathe West was led to victory by Grace Yeager and Neely Leathers. Yeager had eight digs and two aces, while Leathers hit 85.7% for six kills and 26 assists and six digs. Leathers has been hot for a while, having posted 12 or more assists the last 56 times she's played.

Olathe West's victory bumped their record up to 27-7. As for Washburn Rural, their defeat dropped their record down to 27-8-2.

Coincidentally, Olathe West and Washburn Rural will both be playing Lawrence Free State the next time they take the court. The Blues will head out to face the Firebirds at 12:00 p.m. on Friday, while the Owls will play them later in the day, at 2:00 p.m.
