Rio Rico got themselves on the board against Sahuaro on Monday, but Sahuaro never followed suit. They blew past the Cougars, posting a 38-0 victory. The Hawks' offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

Rio Rico's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Jesanie Tapia led the charge by picking up 76 receiving yards and one touchdown, while also rushing for 60 yards and one score on only five carries. Tapia's longest reception was for an impressive 60 yards, which helps to explain her lofty yards per catch total. Jaslene Maddox was another key signal caller, throwing for 187 yards and three TDs.

Rio Rico's defense stepped up as well, laying out the QB eight times. The heavy lifting was done by Ayslin Estrada and Kyara Ugarte, who racked up all eight sacks between them. Estrada is on a roll when it comes to sacks, as she's now posted two or more in each of the last three games she's played.

Rio Rico's win bumped their record up to 3-1. As for Sahuaro, their loss dropped their record down to 2-1.

Rio Rico wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next game, a 46-0 defeat against Sunnyside on the 30th. As for Sahuaro, they have also already played their next matchup, a 9-6 loss against Desert View on the 30th.
