For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Spartans have posted since April 26, 2024.

Jacob Chupp spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered just two earned runs on ten hits and racked up ten Ks. He is becoming a predictor of Scholars Guild Academy's success: when he posts at least eight strikeouts the team is undefeated (and 4-6 when he doesn't).
At the plate, the team relied heavily on Ty Newton, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and one stolen base. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games he's played. Cortland Smith also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.
The King's Academy never got on the board in their matchup on Tuesday, but that sure wasn't the case in their game against Cornerstone Prep Academy on Thursday. They blew past the Cougars 15-3. The Knights might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won five contests by eight runs or more this season.
Dominick Hopkins and Jimmy Anderson made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, Hopkins struck out nine batters over 4.2 innings while giving up three earned runs off three hits. Meanwhile, Anderson tossed 1.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. The dominant performance gave Hopkins a new career-low in hits. At bat, Hopkins scored a run while going 2-for-5, while Anderson got on base in three of his five plate appearances with three RBI, two runs, and one triple. That's the most RBI Anderson has posted since back in February.
In other batting news, Davis Windham was incredible, scoring four runs and stealing Five bases. while getting on base in all five of his plate appearances. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in runs. Another player making a difference was Hayden Beasley, who scored two runs and stole Two bases. while going 2-for-4.
The King's Academy always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .568. They are a perfect 4-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.
The King's Academy is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a nice bump to their 7-5 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.5 runs over those games. Scholars Guild Academy now has a winning record of 7-6.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Monday as neither team is afraid to steal. Scholars Guild Academy has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3.2 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like The King's Academy struggles in that department as they've been averaging 5.3 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Scholars Guild Academy suffered a grim 11-0 defeat to The King's Academy in their previous meeting back in February of 2024. Can Scholars Guild Academy avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
