Baseball Recap: Frontier Drops Season-High Score on Fredonia

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Frontier). They walked away with a 10-5 win over the Fredonia Hillbillies on Friday. The victory was some much needed relief for the Falcons as it spelled an end to their four-game losing streak.

Jacob Hudson made a big impact no matter where he played. On the mound, he tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs and one double.

In other batting news, Frontier got a big performance out of Matthew Jones, who went 2-for-3 with four RBI and one run. That run marked the first that Jones has scored this season. Another player making a difference was Chase Porter, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs and one stolen base.

The win got Frontier back to even at 4-4. As for Fredonia, they now have a losing record of 3-4.

Looking ahead, Frontier will be playing in front of their home fans against Sweet Home at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday. The Panthers' pitching crew has only allowed four runs per game this season, so the Falcons' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Fredonia, they will face off against Salamanca at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday.
