Volleyball Recap: Fatimata Barboza and Sofia Shultz Secure Win for Cambridge

Cambridge won the last time they faced Montrose and things went their way on Wednesday too. The Gryphons came out on top in a nail-biter against Montrose, sneaking past 3-2.

Cambridge got the W, but it wasn't easy, at least in the third set. The match finished with set scores of 19-25, 25-13, 28-30, 25-22, 15-13.

Cambridge was led to victory by Sofia Shultz and Fatimata Barboza. Shultz had 24 digs and three aces, while Barboza had 12 digs and four aces. Those 12 digs gave Barboza a new career-high. Naomi Mcdonald also deserves some recognition as she posted her first assist of the season.

Cambridge has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-5 record this season. As for Montrose, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-4.

As of now, neither Cambridge nor Montrose have any future games scheduled.
