Football Recap: Moorhead Wins Going Away Against Blaine

Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Moorhead walked away with it. They enjoyed a cozy 38-21 win over the Blaine Bengals on Friday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Spuds.

Blaine lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Jameson Niska, who rushed for 136 yards and one TD while picking up 7.6 yards per carry, and also threw for 92 yards and one touchdown. He is becoming a predictor of Blaine's success: when he posts at least 100 rushing yards the team is 3-1 (and 2-3 when he doesn't).

Moorhead now has a winning record of 5-4. As for Blaine, their defeat was their third straight at home, which dropped their record down to 5-4.

Looking ahead, Moorhead will challenge Woodbury at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Blaine does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
