Baseball Recap: Lake Clifton Dolphins vs. City College Knights
Lake Clifton extended their losing streak (dating back to last season) to 17 on Tuesday, dropping them down to 0-13. They came up short against the City College Knights, falling 18-1. The Dolphins were not able to make up for their defeat to the Knights from their previous meeting back in April of 2025.
Lake Clifton saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Demari Luciano, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one stolen base and one RBI.
As for City College, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 12-1. They might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won nine contests by nine runs or more this season.
On City College's side, Haiden Franklin was incredible, going 1-for-2 with one home run, two runs, and one stolen base. That's the most runs Franklin has posted since back in April of 2025. Another player making a difference was Chris Leone, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs, two doubles, and one RBI.
Looking ahead, Lake Clifton will challenge Green Street Academy on Thursday. As for City College, they will host Mergenthaler Vo-Tech at 3:45 p.m. on Wednesday.
