Softball Recap: Culver City Has No Trouble Against Centennial

Culver City got themselves on the board against Centennial on Thursday, but Centennial never followed suit. They put the hurt on the Apaches with a sharp 21-0 win. The Centaurs might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six contests by ten runs or more this season.

Sofia De LaFuente and Lina Onofre did most of the damage at the plate: De LaFuente went 2-for-4 with five RBI, two runs, and one triple, while Onofre went 3-for-4 with five runs, three RBI, and one double. Those five RBI gave De LaFuente a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Christen Hardy-Taylor, who went 3-for-5 with one triple, one run, and one double.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Culver City kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least 11 hits in four consecutive games.

Culver City's record is now 7-11. As for Centennial, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 4-11.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Culver City will host Beverly Hills at 3:15 p.m. on Tuesday. The Centaurs are facing the Normans at the right time seeing as the Normans are stuck on an 11-game losing streak. As for Centennial, they will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Leuzinger at 4:00 p.m. on the 29th.
