Volleyball Recap: Pinecrest Comes Up Short

Pinecrest lost against Hoggard last Saturday, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Patriots came up short against the Vikings, falling 3-0. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Patriots have suffered since August 28th.

The final score came out to 25-14, 25-20, 25-16.

Emily Regtuyt paced Pinecrest's offense, picking up nine kills. Regtuyt were helped by Lawson Barrett and Callie Garrison, who contributed seven assists each. Garrison was also solid from the service line: she led the team with three aces.

Pinecrest has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost six of their last seven matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-10 record this season. As for Hoggard, the win was the tenth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 14-3.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Pinecrest will welcome Richmond Senior at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Hoggard, they will be playing in front of their home fans against West Brunswick at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
