Football Game Preview: Alexandria-Monroe Tigers vs. Eastbrook Panthers

Alexandria-Monroe hasn't had much luck against Eastbrook recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Tigers will be playing at home against the Panthers at 7:00 p.m. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Alexandria-Monroe comes in on four and Eastbrook on nine.

Alexandria-Monroe is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They simply couldn't be stopped on Friday as they easily beat Blackford 63-0. Considering the Tigers have won five games by more than 39 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Brady Gast produced another solid effort throwing for 191 yards and five touchdowns on perfect 8-for-8 passing. He has become a key player for Alexandria-Monroe: the team is undefeated when he posts at least three passing touchdowns, but 1-2 otherwise. Carter Sovern got in on the action as well, converting a pick into a touchdown.

Alexandria-Monroe didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Mason Fuller and Sovern. Sovern got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.

Meanwhile, Eastbrook didn't have too much trouble with Oak Hill on Friday as they won 21-3.

Alexandria-Monroe's victory bumped their record up to 7-2. As for Eastbrook, their win bumped their record up to 9-0.

Alexandria-Monroe couldn't quite get it done against Eastbrook when the teams last played back in September as they fell 34-24. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of the Panthers' Bodie Howell, who rushed for 141 yards and one score. Now that the Tigers know the damage he can cause, will they be able to stop him this time? There's only one way to find out.
