Soccer Game Preview: Nacogdoches vs. Jacksonville

The Nacogdoches Dragons will venture away from home to challenge the Jacksonville Fightin' Indians at 1:30 p.m. on Monday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.

Nacogdoches is headed in fresh off scoring the most goals they have all season. Their defense stepped up to hand Marshall an 8-0 shutout on Friday. Anthony Rodriguez was a massive factor in the win as he booted in four goals all by himself.

Meanwhile, Jacksonville hasn't lost a match yet, a trend which continued in their latest game on Friday. They walked away with a 4-2 victory over Whitehouse.

Nacogdoches' win bumped their record up to 5-1-1. As for Jacksonville, their victory bumped their record up to 6-0-1.

Nacogdoches came up short against Jacksonville when the teams last played back in January of 2024, falling 4-2. Can Nacogdoches avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
